CrossCube: plastic smart Access Chambers for cable protection
The CrossCube Access Chamber is a smart and durable solution for safe cable transit and maintenance of networks. Thanks to its modular construction, you easily put together the plastic Access Chamber for your project, from small handhole to large cable pit. The system consists of only four elements, which ensures logistical advantages and efficient transport. The Access Chamber, also known as drawing pits, connect perfectly to casing pipe and can withstand heavy loads. You can choose from various lids made of composite, cast iron or cast-in material.

Strong and flexible Access Chamber for any situation
The plastic CrossCube draw pit is modularly constructed, made of recycled PP and fully recyclable. Available in many sizes and with various lids and load classes. Suitable for any terrain and easy to adapt and expand as the situation demands.
Durable and strong
Made of durable, recycled plastic (polypropylene and fibreglass-reinforced polyamide). Withstands heavy loads and long-term use underground.
Better alternative to concrete
The modular construction offers a practical and sustainable alternative to concrete and can be used in various soil types. No crane or foundations are needed, so installation is faster and more economical.
Wide choice of lids
From composite to cast iron, manual or hydraulic, in classes from A15 to F900. Always a suitable finish for every situation.
Fully customised
Thanks to the modular system, you assemble the draw well exactly as you want. Easy to adjust in height, width and connections.

All about the CrossCube
Lightweight system: often installed without crane and without additional foundation. Low-maintenance, long service life and 100% recyclable at the end of the use phase.
Choice of composite, cast iron or plug-in. Manually or hydraulically operated. Infinitely variable height adjustment at street level. Available in load class A15 to F900.
Fully modular: walls in various widths, stackable to any height. So you assemble the pit exactly to size, from handhole to large cable Access Chamber.
Available with all-round break-out ports in diameters 50-110-160mm. Suitable for connecting jacketed pipes and/or Utilis multi-ducts.
Head sections are made of glass fibre reinforced polyamide (PA-GF). Resistant to high asphalt temperatures and fitted with height adjustment screws for setting the covers at street level. The wall elements are made of recycled PP, lightweight and easily machinable if required.
Use CrossCube for cable entry on platforms, where it provides access to the underground network via the pull pit. Strong enough for heavy loads and suitable for installing, replacing or adding cables.
Use the pull pit for storing spare cables and for underground access to cables in energy projects, solar parks and charging infrastructure. Choose the size and type of cover that suits your situation.
Pull pits are essential for a maintenance-friendly and future-proof cable network. Especially in industry, where regular maintenance and investment are required.
Ideal for cables along roads and at lock complexes. Lightweight and quick to install without foundation or heavy equipment, also suitable as a handhole for communication and fibre-optic networks.

Rijkswaterstaat
Municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn - Pilot bundling of telecom cables
For the new housing project Biezenlanden and reconstruction project Waterrijk-Oost, the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn opted for our Utilis Multicokers and CrossCube drawing pits. With this solution, telecom cables are bundled into a single system with four compartments, significantly reducing the space required underground. The system is easy to lay, can be driven over and provides flexible house connections even when settling in soft soil. The application leads to less excavation damage and lower repair costs and reduces the risk of failures. The expected lifespan is at least 80 years. The successful pilots pave the way for structural application in future projects.

Vigotec / SNCB
Mechelen station - Strength in Utilis and CrossCube
For the rail project at Mechelen station, the National Company of Belgian Railways (SNCB) chose our CrossCube draught pits and Utilis Multicokers. Installation was carried out by distribution partner Vigotec, which ensured efficient and professional execution. This solution allows cables to be safely bundled and protected, with the possibility to easily add or replace cables later. The result is a sustainable and maintenance-friendly infrastructure that saves costs and helps prevent breakdowns. A future-proof choice for the Belgian railways.
Frequently asked questions about CrossCube
Is your question not listed here? Feel free to call or e-mail us. We will be happy to help you find the right solution for your project.
What do you use CrossCube for?
The CrossCube is a modular pull pit system used to keep cables safe, orderly and accessible at crucial points in a route, such as crossings, bends or branches. By deploying these pull pits, you can easily carry out maintenance or extend the cable network without having to re-dig.
What is the advantage of a modular system?
You can fully adapt the well on site; you make it higher, lower, larger or smaller on the spot. This is ideal when the situation underground differs from the drawing or when there is less space than expected due to existing pipes.
Why choose plastic over concrete?
Plastic is much lighter, so you often place small draw pits by hand without heavy equipment. Whereas concrete needs an extra foundation against subsidence, you place plastic in all substrates without that extra foundation. Moreover, you can easily adjust the CrossCube on site, which is much more difficult and time-consuming with concrete.
Can you adjust connections on site?
Yes, although we often prepare manholes prefab according to drawings, you easily adapt them on site. You tap out desired break-out ports with a hammer or cut a new port if the pipe does not fit a standard port. Unused ports are simply closed again with a sealing cap.
How big are the draw pits?
The CrossCube has no fixed size; you put the pit together yourself from different sizes of wall sections. This allows us to supply the required size for every project. In each wall section there are various sizes of break-out ports for a huge variety of pipe connections.
What load class do I need for my project?
This depends on the location of the pit. For the CrossCube, you can choose from three types of lid to achieve any desired load class. We will gladly advise you which combination of manhole and lid suits your specific traffic or industrial load.
